Brief
As part of our rebrand of Bounty Portrait, Wildfire also
redesigned the company's website. As well as giving users
information and ideas relating to the service, the website also
needed to act as an online portal for parents to view and buy their
newborn's portraits.
Because it is selling a highly customisable and personalised
product, the design of the website's e-commerce section needed to
present a very clear and manageable process that accommodated the
many options available. The look and feel needed to be appropriate
for the newborn market and be in line with the Bounty pack
products.
Creative
Taking inspiration from the soft pastel shades of our Bounty
Portrait gift pack design, we created a site that is appropriate to
the product area. Focus was given to large banner imagery that
showcased the service, with simple divisions of content to
concisely present related information.
The design of the order process presented a bigger challenge as
it had to allow for a large number of variables, such as choice of
image and product colour. To make it as clear as possible, we broke
it down into simple steps that led the customer through the
process. The customer's portrait lightbox was kept as a consistent
feature on each page for easy reference, and key elements such as
the customer log-in area were given prominent positions.
The new website has been a resounding success, resulting in a
350% increase in online sales for the client.
